Andalusian architecture Hotel, country estate style, located on a hill beetwen the villages of Fuengirola and Mijas, and only 10 km from M?ga airport. It is a really peaceful place, in a relaxing and natural environment, with wonderful views over the sea and the mountains.

The Hotel has wide gardens, a big outdoor swimming pool, a children swimming pool, an indoor heated swimming pool in winter, a children playground, mini-golf, gymnasium, sauna, aerobic room, 2 tennis courts, and a wide outdoor parking.

So Peaceful
i went to this hotel for a weeks break and thats what i got. i went from july 1st to the 7th and it was the best weather i have ever experienced. wall to wall sunshine every day. it was peaceful with nice sunbeds and a great large pool to cool off in. the people there were polite and helpful. it was extremly clean and the maids were so friendly. the food was well done, just not a lot of veritry and you do have to guess what is it your scooping up. the desserts were fab. the breakfast was good too. the music by Jose the singer wasent too painful. it was quite cathy to be honesy, and diddent go on for ever only till 11.30pm. over all a GREAT hotel and i would love to stay again for longer. such a wonderful view down to the sea. you do need a hire car to get places but its well worth it. A+++++++++ enjoy your stay.

"A fantastic place to stay!"
This was the second time I have stayed at Club Puerto del Sol and I will definately go back the next time I visit the Costa del Sol. I originally stayed at this hotel in 2005 with a mixture of both friends and family. We came across the hotel by accident whilst browsing the web for a holiday and because of the very reasonable rates we booked-up with no great expectations. I think this is where some of the criticism for this hotel comes from - people pay more attention to the 4-star rating than they do the price. The lobby is clean, welcoming and nicely laid out, with piped music creating a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Since my 2005 stay the hotel has undergone some renovations (which I believe are scheduled to be complete in the post-Christmas period in 2006) and though progress is unavoidably slow, the changes are very pleasing indeed. The new rooms have a laminate floor layout with a modern 'natural' theme running through the bedroom and bathroom. Rooms are equipped with TV, air conditioning and a walk-in shower with a glass blocks divide. The bathroom also has a convenient pull out mirror and hairdryer and is very spacious. The hotel itself has many facilities including both an indoor and outdoor pool, a gym (which is to be refurbished shortly), a sauna, tennis courts, bar/restaurant, outside terrace and sunbathing area, tv room and more. The outside area is in the process of acquiring a tiered sunbathing area which overlooks a fantastic view of fuengorola. People who may be put off by the fairly remote location should not worry, there is a private hotel bus service which takes you into the neighboring areas (less than 10 minutes away) and there is a fantastic bus service that is literally outside the hotel grounds taking guests to either Mijas or Fuengirola for around 1 euro. During our last stay, we were waiting at the bus stop when the hotel manager drove past and after recognising us from the hotel actually drove us down to Fuengirola himself. We were completely stunned by this extremely kind gesture and during the trip down were equally taken aback by how friendly and passionate he was about the hotel and its refurbishments. I can appreciate that in some people's eyes the hotel may not but 4-star, but the customer service most definately is (if not more)! Breakfast is provided with-in the price and there is enough variety to ensure that everyone is catered for. I have to say that since the previous year the food has improved somewhat and an extra 10 euros enables you to receive full board which is definately worth the money. Myself and my partner will be returning to the Costa del Sol in the very near future and although we have tried alternative hotels we will definately be coming back here.

"Nice Hotel - Just right to use as a base"
We have just returned from holidaying in Mijas and used this hotel as a bed for the night. we stayed on a bed & breakfast basis. when we arrived we were very tired and requested quiet rooms. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and gave us two lovely quiet rooms overlooking Mijas. The hotel itself is very basic and as one of the previous reviews says there are no tea/coffee making facilities. You would definately need a car. We couldnt get a meal in the resturant because it closed at 9.30pm which is quite early, but there are plenty of places elsewhere to eat. The breakfast was excellent and gave a choice of everything from continental to full english and was delicious. We would certainly recommend staying on a B & B basis. In fact we were staying in a villa up the road and was quite tempted to pop down to the hotel for breakfast everyday! Drinks were quite expensive but that was to be expected in a hotel but they werent stingy with their shorts!All in all we got exactly what we wanted with this hotel and would definately stay again.
